A dedicated lifelong learner and teacher, he lectures for local dental societies on periodontal therapy, opioid stewardship, and workplace violence prevention. What Adjunctive Therapies or Agents Can We Use as Providers to Help Patients with Periodontitis
Adjunctive therapies can enhance traditional scaling and root planing outcomes. This session reviews locally delivered antimicrobials, systemic antibiotics, host-modulation therapy, and laser use. Evidence-based recommendations will help clinicians select the right adjunct for the right patient.

- Identify evidence-supported adjunctive therapies for periodontitis.
- Evaluate indications and contraindications for systemic and local antimicrobials.
- Discuss the role of host-modulation therapy in periodontal treatment.

This course will help you use numbers to get a true unbiased picture of a dental practice, and then use those numbers to develop both short- and long-term plans to improve the practice.

- Discover which numbers are important to monitor.
- Learn which numbers to track and why.
- Determine what numbers are outside the desired norms.
- Understand a new era in dentistry with regard to practice productivity, efficiency, and profitability, and to look at these measures more closely and differently than we have in the past.
About the Speaker
Dr. Patrick Houlihan is co-owner of a dental practice in Burton, Mich. Dr. Houlihan is also a speaker, author, and dental practice consultant with more than 150 successful practice transitions.
